Purdue reached into the Volunteer State for its 2025 football recruiting, offering East Hamilton High School (Ooltewah) athlete Vanzale Hinton.

For Hinton, a three star cornerback/wide receiver, the offer from Purdue was his first Power 5 offer of the cycle. In addition to Purdue, Hinton holds offers from the likes of Tulane, Toledo, Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky.

Hinton breaks down offer from Boilermakers

“It feels great and for them being my first Power 5, they will always be in the conversation. Picking up this offer is showing me that the hard work is paying off, but the job is not finished. We are just going to work,” Hinton told Boiler Wire.
Hinton said Purdue’s staff told him they liked several things about his game.
“They liked my energy, the way I play the game and also my aggressiveness on the defensive side of the ball,” Hinton said.
And, he has several things he likes about the Boilermakers.
“I like the coaching staff up there and how they can relate to their recruits, sitting down and having a conversation with us,” Hinton said.
With the offer fresh, Hinton said it is “very important” for him to gain a relationship with the staff.
“It is very important to gain a good relationship with the staff. They are going to be my mentors for the next three to four years. They also have to impress my family just as much as me. It is is a homely spot for me,” Hinton said.
Hinton acknowledged he plans on visiting Purdue this summer and coming to camp.
“I am looking forward to building a relationship with Coach Sam (Carter). I would like to know more about the culture up there,” he said.

Hinton has high hopes for this year after big junior season

A season ago, Hinton, who is 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, accounted for 42 total tackles, five tackles for a loss, an interception and nine pass deflections on the defensive side. Offensively, he reeled in 58 passes for 850 yards and nine touchdowns and added another 139 yards on the ground.
“Something that stands out for me is the way I carried my technique into game situations, working all offseason on my technique. I was able to use it against tough opponents and in the upcoming season, I am learning the game of football, more training with my trainer teaching me routes, recognition and breaking down yardage along with what routes will come at me on certain situations,” Hinton said.
