A total of six Purdue basketball recruits have seen themselves nominated for the McDonald’s All-American Game , three on both the boy’s roster and three on the girls’ roster.

For the boy’s side, Kanon Catchings, Gicarri Harris and Daniel Jacobsen all found themselves nominated.

Catchings, a four star forward, is an Indiana native, who is playing for Overtime Elite, is ranked 32nd in the Class of ’24 and is the highest rated prospect for Purdue men’s coach Matt Painter. Catchings is averaging 13 points, just under five rebounds and an assist this season.
He is the nephew of former Indiana Fever standout and Hall of Famer Tamika Catchings, while his mother, Tauja Catchings, played college basketball at the University of Illinois.

Harris has been on a tear this season at Grayson High School, and is a four star shooting guard. Harris recently earned Most Outstanding Player honors in the Chick-fil-A Classic, while Jacobsen, who is 7-foot-2, has been averaging just over 8 points and 6 boards a game at Brewster Academy.

Six future Lady Boilers nominated

On the girls’ side, head coach Katie Gearalds saw recruits Jordyn Poole, Kendall Puryear and Lana McCarthy nominated for the game.

Poole is an Indiana Miss Basketball candidate and has put Fort Wayne Snider in the mix for a state title, while averaging 17 points and 5 assists.
Puryear recently eclipsed the 1,000 point mark in her career and the forward is averaging over 19 points and 13 rebounds a contest, while McCarthy has also surpassed 1,000 career points and earned the Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year honor for the state of New Hampshire.
