Purdue offers PWO to Instate talent

Plainfield linebacker Landon Drennan, right, committed to Purdue football.

Growing up Landon Drennan followed Purdue quite a bit, especially considering his older brother was a Boilermaker.

Now, he has an opportunity to suit up for Purdue after receiving a Preferred Walk-On Opportunity from the Boilermakers after decommitting to Air Force.

“After decommitting from the Air Force Academy and opening up my recruitment, I would definitely say it was reassuring and also lifted some weight off my chest after earning an offer from Purdue,” Drennan told Boiler Wire.

The Plainfield (IN) senior linebacker/hybrid edge reopened his recruiting last month and currently holds offers from the likes of Air Force, Dayton and Eastern Kentucky among others.

“Right now, I would say Purdue is high on my list when it comes to my options. I am thankful Coach Dennison believes in me and my talent to earn a scholarship at a program as good as Purdue. Coach Kane reached out as well, asking how my New Year’s went,” Drennan said.

The senior said he does not have a visit lined up yet, but admits he believes it is coming soon.

“I am sure it’s coming soon since the dead period has just ended. An instate school is, obviously, much more convenient for me,” Drennan said.
