Could the next great Purdue football offensive lineman come from the Lonestar State?
Second year head coach Ryan Walters and the Boilermakers hope so, as Purdue football extended an offer to three-star Duncanville High School (TX) lineman Desean Bryant Jr. recently.
Bryant, who stands 6-foot-5-inches and weighs 250 pounds, helped guide Duncanville to two state titles. The Class of ’25 prospect admits the offer from the Boilermakers was “unexpected.”
“It was unexpected, but it feels great to get an offer from another great school,” Bryant told Boiler Wire.
In addition to the offer from Purdue, Bryant holds offers from the likes of: Tulsa, Duke, Baylor, Grambling, TCU and Arizona State. He said the offer from the Boilermakers ranks high.
Boilers rank high on Bryant’s list
“It ranks high and is definitely in my top three. I think Coach Walters is building a special team so that they can compete in a very competitive Big Ten Conference,” Bryant said.
As for what the coaching staff liked about his game, Bryant said they liked his length and aggressive nature.
“They liked how long I am and how aggressive I am at the point of attack. I like how it’s away from home and the academics,” said Bryant, who added he doesn’t have a visit set up but does plan on coming to West Lafayette soon.
