The Purdue football team will host Kansas four star defensive edge Jayden Woods this weekend for an unofficial visit. The Class of 2025 Top 100 prospect is excited about the visit, which comes on the heels of him being offered in December.
“It felt great,” Woods told Boiler Wire about the offer. “The scheme they run is what stands out the most to me.”
The Mill Valley High School standout finished his junior season with 71 tackles, 40 of which were solo stops. He added 10 tackles for a loss, seven sacks, 11 quarterback hurries, a fumble recovery and two forced fumbles.
Woods, who is 6-foot-3-inches and 230 pounds, said there were several things the Purdue coaching staff liked about his game.
“My versatility, pass rush and effort,” he said.
And, he admits there are several things he admires about the job head coach Ryan Walters has done changing the culture.
“I think Coach Walters has done a great job establishing the culture there,” Woods said.
Woods holds 32 offers including from the likes of: Alabama, Florida, Iowa, LSU, Michigan State, Miami, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Penn State, among others.
As for his goals this upcoming season, Woods said they are simple.
“Just to be the best player I can be,” Woods said.
