The hot streak continues for Purdue football and coach Ryan Walters, as the Boilermakers added another pair of commitments.
The Boilermakers added a pair of Ohio high school standouts in linebacker Grant Beerman and corner back Dawayne Galloway Jr.
Ohio linebacker ready to build something special with Purdue football
Purdue football picked up a commitment from Class of 2025 linebacker Grant Beerman, out of West Chester, Ohio. He selected the Boilermakers over the likes of West Virginia, Michigan State and Cincinnati, as he held almost 30 offers. Beerman, who is a four star standout, made his announcement on Rivals.com and said he opted for Purdue due its “family vibe” that he experienced on his official visit.
“Purdue really stood out because it was a family vibe. I mean, I really fit in. The connection I have, not only with the coaches but with the players, it really felt like home,” Beerman said.
Beerman said he had watched the defense Walters utilized at Illinois and it was something that excited him.
“If we can get the defense there, we can be one of the top defenses in the country. It was something I couldn’t pass up on. I can be utilized in many ways,” Beerman said.
The 6-foot-4-inch, 220-pound standout recorded 79 stops, four sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass deflections last year at Lakota West.
“Sooner or later, we are going to shock them with football. I think we are going to build something special,” Beerman said.

Purdue football also added a commitment from four star corner back Dawayne Galloway Jr.
Much like Beerman, Galloway Jr. had his choice of schools, sitting with almost 30 offers. He selected the Boilermakers over the likes of Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Wisconsin, among others.
According to 247Sports, Galloway ranks as a top-150 overall prospect in the 2025 class. The Columbus native is also ranked as the 17th best corner back. Last season, he finished with five interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.
The Boilermakers have 12 commitments in the Class of 2025 currently. Purdue football will open the season against Indiana State at Ross Ade Stadium on Aug. 31.
