For the second time in as many seasons, Purdue basketball will hit the road for a charity exhibition game this upcoming season.

The Boilermakers will head to Omaha to take on Creighton University from the Big East on Saturday, Oct. 26 at CHI Health Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.

According to a release from Purdue basketball, “the game will benefit the United Way of the Midlands Disaster Relief Fund after destructive tornadoes ravaged Omaha and surrounding areas on April 26th, 2024. The tornadoes, including Nebraska’s first EF-4 tornado in almost 10 years, caused an estimate 2.1 billion dollars worht of damage.”

Tickets for the game will go on sale August 26 at 11 a.m. to the general public.

Purdue basketball coach Matt Painter welcomed the opportunity to travel to Omaha.

“We are excited to be traveling to Creighton and playing the Bluejays for a great cause to start our season,” Painter said.

Creighton coach Greg McDermott also welcomed the opportunity to take on Purdue basketball.

“Coming off a trip to the National Championship game, Coach Painter will once again have one of the best teams in the country,” McDermott said of hosting Purdue.

Purdue basketball and Creighton should enter the season with high rankings and high aspirations, as both are no strangers to success.

The Boilermakers need to find a replacement for Zach Edey, while the Blue Jays bring back three of their top six scorers, as well as Ryan Kalkbrenner, who is one of the nation’s top defenders.
