The Purdue men’s basketball team saw a schedule change for the upcoming 2024-25 season this week when it comes to the 2nd Annual Rady Children’s Invitational.
The event, which initially featured the Boilermakers, Notre Dame, Arkansas and BYU. Notre Dame and Arkansas, however, have backed out of the event. Replacing the Irish and Razorbacks will be NC State and Mississippi. The Rady Children’s Invitational will take place Nov. 28-29 with the championship on day one. Who Purdue men’s basketball will play is still up in the air, as the matchups have yet to be announced.
In a release, Sports San Diego CEO Mark Neville called the announcement “exciting.”
“While we are disappointed that two teams have opted out of their contracts, we are so excited to welcome the SEC’s Ole Miss and yet another team from last season’s Final Four in NC State,” Neville said.
Purdue men’s basketball and the Wolfpack are quite familiar with each other. The two teams played in last year’s Final Four, with the Boilermakers earning a 63-50 victory in the national semi-final.
Both teams will look different when they hit the hardwood for the event. Purdue men’s basketball, obviously, has lost big man Zach Edey to graduation, while the Wolfpack lost DJ Burns, DJ Horne and more from last year’s ACC Championship winning squad.
